I recently moved my hosting for a shared hosting to a VPS with GoDaddy. I built two WordPress sites on the new VPS. Ever since I keep getting errors in my server logs that state “mod_fcgid: can’t apply process slot for /var/www/cgi-bin/cgi_wrapper/cgi_wrapper “. This affects both sites and some mornings both site show 501 server error until I restart the server. On Saturday I had to disable all plugins via MySQL just to get them to work. Been trying to isolate if this is a plugin issue or a theme issue. Both sites run basically the same plugins and I purchased both themes from SMThemes.

I was very disappointed to find out once you purchase a VPS, you on your own. GoDaddy won’t help unless your willing to pay them.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

Sorry, but in some ways you are on your own. Unmanaged VPSs are just that; if you need help with linux admin, you need to switch to a managed server at GD or another host.

That error really has nothing to do with WordPress. Try https://www.google.com/search?&q=mod_fcgid:+can’t+apply+process+slot and see possible answers.

If you can’t do the work yourself, consider looking for a reputable person on jobs.wordpress.net or freelancing sites such as Elance. (It’s not a good idea to respond to unsolicited emails from forum users offering to work for you.)
