  • Generally, footers like you want have widgets in them — coded as divs set to a fixed width (i.e. 1/4 or 1/5 the width of the page, with extra room for margins), and set side by side using the “float” attribute in the CSS code.

    do I need to create a new widget area? is there no way of changing the style codes on my current theme for the footer menu to display how I wanted to?
