I accidentally created and published a new blog post with the slug (permalink) I wanted to use for a new category. I tried updating the blog post permalink and then deleted it entirely, but the new category page still shows nothing. At the least, it should show the Category Name “Japan” and a short description I created for it. I haven’t published any blog posts with it yet, so none appear as I type this. I’m working on the first one today.

    Category URL — https://feastio.com/japan/

Existing Category URL with blog posts — https://feastio.com/vietnam/

Yoast SEO Premium plugin gives the option to redirect a permalink if you delete a post, but I didn’t do that as it wouldn’t allow me to have the exact category URL (the country name) that I wanted.

Is there a way that I can fix this without having to do something technical like edit the database?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

That would depend on how your theme is coded.

I’ll recommend you add a post to the category to test. You could assign an existing post just to test and then remove it.

Thanks. I published the first post in the category and it turns out there doesn’t appear to have been an issue. I can see the category description and blog post assigned. https://feastio.com/japan/
