Help with Modifying a Function/Dots in Slugs

  • I’ve got a question I hope someone can help with. I migrated to WordPress from another engine that permitted dots in the permalink/slug. When I moved to WordPress, I imported the dots into the slugs via the database manually. Of course, WordPress not only builds slugs without dots, it won’t even properly retrieve the posts. So I had to edit specific functions in the code to “fix” this behavior.

    The problem is, changing the same functions in 2.7 doesn’t work: the posts still aren’t fetched properly.

    Does anyone know why? What code to edit? Your help is much appreciated.
