Help with Listing Cats and Pages

I know how to normally list cats and pages in the sidebar which gets printed in a bulleted list.

This time I want to print EACH cat and EACH page into a seperate table instead of bullet points.

e.g.

– cat 1
– cat 2
– cat 3

becomes

| Cat1 |
|——-
|——-
| Cat2 |
|——-
|——-
| Cat3 |
|——-

Essentially I need to put the start of the table code one side and the end of the table code the other site of EACH cat link.

I am NOT trying to put the BULLET LIST into one big table, I am trying to put EACH printed link into its OWN table.

If anyone can help I would be most thankful.
