Help with layout-more tag
-
Hello there,
I tried and tried to figure this out without having to bother anybody….but i failed. haha. Someone please help. I’m having a plethora of issues.
I’m using the tesseract theme with a static home page. I was trying to have 3 “featured posts” with a read more tag that connected to my “All Projects” page which is used to display all of my posts. All of the projects that show up on the “all projects” page have their own post page.
Read more is not working for me no matter where i put the tag. I think i might be over ambitious in what i am trying to achieve as i do not know coding, but i really do believe i can figure it out with some guidance. i think i need a mentor haha.
Also, i was going to accept that fact that maybe i cant do a read more from a static homepage and would just set a link to connect me to the “all projects” page. Then i discovered there was no way for me to actually edit the content on that page as it stores all posts. so i put the read more tag in the actual posts and still does not work.
Now i did do research and saw the in depth posts about using some code to facilitate what i was trying to do, but its like my index.php does not have the_content or the_excerpt so it didnt really match what i was finding.
Can someone please assist with this? I dont know if it makes a difference but i am using bluehosting and i changed name servers to accommodate.
