• I am new to the blog world. I am not a programmer but have one helping me out with the technical side of things. My apologies if I am asking ignorant questions or am not making myself clear. I will do my best.

I am having trouble figuring out how to layout our blog. I understand the difference between posts and pages. I like that posts can be published under different categories which will work for us because I will have several different types of reports. I want a main page for the reports that will describe what the page will be about. Below will be the different reports.

Originally, I looked at using posts with categories. I like the way the posts scroll as a new one is added. The problem I am having is if I use the main reports page as a post, it will scroll when I want to keep certain information permanent. Am I correct in thinking I need a static page? I would like to create a page but understand you cannot create a page and publish it to a category. I would like to know how I would go about laying out this specific area of the blog.

Again, my apologies if this post is all over the place. I promise I tried…

  • Let me refine my question a little… (I am lb1878). I think a static page is the way to go. Can a static page be updated using posts? This will allow me to have my main information about the page stay permanent while I update the reports. Is this possible?
