Hi, I’m moving from one server/host/url to another one. I am having some problems with the set up of the DB (i think).

For some reason when I originally installed it, it would “skip” from the new server to the old one when I would try to login to the admin. I can load the backed up info to the new server, but when I try to log in, it skips to the old server. (as in, I start on “spaghettiharvest.com” and when I click “login” the URL changes to the old site)

So, I decided to remove the DB from the new server and re-install WP. Er. Now, I get this message on the second step of setting it up:

Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /mnt/web_z/d16/s24/b0263a77/www/blog/wp-admin/upgrade-schema.php on line 245

    Help!

  • Confirm your procedures in the Codex article, Moving_WordPress.

Consider using phpMyAdmin to make sure your wp_options table has the correct values in siteurl and home.

siteurl is your WordPress address (URI) and home is your Blog Address (URI).

Hi, thanks for the help, I got it running finally, many installs/uninstalls and switching the redirect for the 2nd url on the server.

NOW…I have a different issue. I’m going to cry I tell ya.
