• Hello,

    I’m not sure how to create the .htaccess file need to get my multisite running.
    I went into the files from ftp server, then added the directories like I was instructed to. At the end I was told that to add a .htaccess file.

    Is this something that I’m supposed to make in the ftp server area or do I copy and past the text giving to me in a text file and name it .htaccess.

    If this is a new fresh install then copy and paste the text into a text file and upload that file to your blog’s root directory.

    Make sure that text file is named .htaccess and that the permissions are let the web server read that file and that mod_rewrite is installed and working.

    If this is an attempt to convert a regular and working WordPress installation into a multisite, then do much more reading before trying this. ?? If you are not careful you’ll break the existing installation.
