    Hi there,

I am having trouble allowing member roles to comment on posts. Do you know where in the backend of your plugin settings I can enable members to comment?

    Thanks!

    Hi @kaitlinkinzinger,

Are you having this issue with default wordpress roles or any custom UM role that your created? Default wordpress roles shouldn’t have any such issue. But for other roles you can go to Ultimate Member->User Roles->Your member’s role->Edit->Wp Capabilities and try adding some capability to see if that enables them to comment.

Any other plugin could cause this issue too, try deactivating other plugins and see if that solves your issue first.

    Thanks.

    Hi there,

Thanks for your insight. All of the users are under the “members” role, but is there a specific check box I need to indicate to allow them to comment? Right now the only thing checked is “read”. Is there something else I should check off in order to fix this?

    Thanks so much

    Hi @kaitlinkinzinger,

I don’t think your issue is caused by UM. Try deactivating UM and see if you still have such issue. UM doesn’t restrict user comment.

    Thanks.
