• Hey,
I installed the Email Post Activation plugin. To test it I sent an email from my gmail account to the specific email I set up for this purpose on my host site, it receives the email, then after a few minutes the email disappears and goes into WordPress under Posts, but the issue is that it stays in posts pending until I edit it and publish it? Is this normal or is there a way I can get it to directly go to the website without needing to review the email first?

This code appears in the footer also <iframe src=”https://www.myblog.com/myblog/wp-mail.php” name=”mailiframe” width=”0″ height=”0″ frameborder=”0″ scrolling=”no” title=”"> which its meant to but I cant figure out why it wont post automatically. I need to get this functionality working as I am currently building a website for a company!!!

Also at present I have the Home page of the website set to take posts but if I want to change it to say a ‘Special Offers’ page it doesnt give me the option of making the homepage static ?? If I make the Special Offers page the posts page then both pages are the same. Any ideas I can work this out as I need to change the home page to static ??

    Thanks

  • Answer for your second question (static home page): I think the “set static homepage” option is not available until you actually create a public page. So you have to create the Special Offers page first, then you will be able to set it as home.

I have the special offers page created but there is no option to make the Home page static then, when I got the theme the home page was already there. If say I was to change my front page to any other page then that pages comes up as the first page once you visit the site as well as the same data being on the ‘home’ page like if I do about us then i technically have two the same About Us pages!! The problem is that I dont want to create another Home page cause then I have two home pages!

    Thanks for your help

I’m not sure I understand you. You have set the start page to a static page and still have a Home page link in the menu?

Take a look at this tutorial or this forum thread if you’re using Twenty Ten.

    Sorry ??
Ok I have a home page which was there from the very start in the theme obviously ok..Then i added in about us, contact us, special offers etc. What I want to do is change the posts from defaulting on the home page to go to the special offers page, but under Reading I can change the Special offers page to accept the posts but I cant select the original home page to be static as it is not even an option, therefore the posts continue to default to the home page as well as go onto the special offers page. Basically I need a way to make the Home page static somehow but it wont let me do it?
Guess its a limitation within WordPress is it?

    Thanks for your help ??
