I am trying to build a non blog site with my own custom theme that I have designed in photoshop. I am more of a designer and know very little about coding. I am trying to figure out the best way to go about producing this site. The website will be static and I only want to use wordpress as a cms to make slight changes from time to time.

I have tried to use a site called psdtocss to get my psd into a wordpress theme but it has issues. My site is pretty simple and has two different types of pages. One home page and every other page will follow a tweaked/similar template/theme.

Can anyone tell me the best and most efficient way to go about this without having too much coding knowledge.

This is what I am trying to get the site to look like
    home page

    all other pages

  • Start by making a copy of the default theme and customising it – paying particular attention to the page.php template file. Creating a theme for a non-blog site is no different than creating one for a blog – except that you don’t have to worry about single post pages, categories, comments or archives.
