• Hi Anders,

Thank you for the Chaplin theme. We are finding it very good to work with and our clients have commented on how sleek and responsive our website is.

We would like to create a banner that loads at the top of the page on the front page. We would like this to link to a page. We basically want to create a banner that directs people to click on it to lead to a page on COVID-19 advice.

Grateful for any advice (apologies if there is a very simple method- I am very new to this!)

    Hi @jaron17,

I’m glad you and your visitors like it!

There are some plugins that allow you to add banners to your site (like Simple Banner), but since the header in Chaplin is absolutely positioned on the Cover Template, the banner will cover parts of the site header. It’s not so bad on desktop, but on mobile, it will obscure most of your logo and almost all of the menu and search buttons.

My recommendation would be to add a block at the very start of the content, and use that as your banner. You could also add a link to the excerpt on the front page (displayed below the page title).
