Help With Choosing A Plugin And General Plugin Discussion Forum?

Hi All…
I am looking for a kind of free FLOSS global map-based directory plugin (the has a reasonably-seamless theme integration) that anyone can add their location and details to and that’s intuitive and simple yet as powerful as possible and relatively future-proof.

I have looked around already and did a search and IRC as well to little avail/satisfaction.

If anyone would like to offer some advice, including suggesting– or, for the WordPress guys, creating, if none– a forum, aside from ‘Support at a specific plugin section’ (which would have to be targeted among a myriad of plugins), it would be appreciated.

I had a similar question to this previously with a site example link (not spam I would think if it is used as an example of what is needed), but WP seems to have deleted it unceremoniously and put me on moderation to boot. That doesn’t make me too happy, Happiness Engineers. If you want to do that, how about a reason, such as by email, even if it is automated? Life’s too complicated without making it more so.

WordPress plugins, while they can be quite useful, are not generally going to provide a resolution to multiple development issues. Each has a purpose, generally, when well done, unique and powerful. Many folks think all they need is a plugin to fill some gap in site development. Far from true.

Thanks for the insight, and, while I appreciate what you’re saying, I already more or less know that, hence my question.
It’s like an alien entering our solar system and asking us Terrestrials what the best planet in the solar system would be for them to settle on…
I suspect that, with a number of back and forth questions and answers, certain planets could probably be fleshed out and narrowed down, maybe to one, or maybe to none at all.
So that was/is more or less the idea behind my question.
Again, IOW, I already get that there are a fair number of planets and significant moons, and that I have certain living requirements that are not going to fit all of them.
