• Hi,

I am writing blog posts for a client and she wants me to organize her blog posts further. If you go to the link I provided, this is the location of the huge amass of articles that I’d like to separate into different categories (without using the menu) to organize them.

If you head to the home page > Blog > Travel Blog, you can see what the path is to get to this page (for reference). I’d like to set up images/thumbnails on the travel blog page with different categories to click on to take you to certain articles only about airlines, each state, etc. Is there any easy way to do this? Do I need code or a plugin? Or is it a simple categories tweak?

Thanks for any help in advance.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Naturally you could compose a static page with images and links to specific category term archives of posts. The problem is every time another category is created, this page would need to be edited. It’s not too complex to code an all categories template that lists and links to each specific category term archive. But by default, WP has no way to associate category terms with images like we do with featured images for posts. Fortunately, there are numerous plugins that let you do this.

I would hope these plugins offer a shortcode or something that would produce a category page like you envision. Even if not, it still shouldn’t be too difficult to code such a page. It’s complicated slightly by the need to get images associated with terms, but that shouldn’t be too difficult. It really depends on what is offered by the category image plugin you choose.
