help with canonical URL
-
I have a message from google saying my home page hasn’t been listed because there is an alternative page with a canonical URL. I use the www. version of my site. If I go to settings/general both the wordpress and site addresses use the www version.
However, if I view the source of the home page it says
<!– This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v19.11 – https://yoast.com/wordpress/plugins/seo/ –>
<title>CPD For Therapists</title>
<meta name=”description” content=”CPD For Therapists Who Want To Be Experts – Therapy Training School, Validated Workshops; Online Training, Specialists In Hypnotherapy” class=”yoast-seo-meta-tag” />
<link rel=”canonical” href=”https://cpd.expert/” class=”yoast-seo-meta-tag” />
<link rel=”next” href=”https://cpd.expert/page/2/” class=”yoast-seo-meta-tag” />`So I am guessing that’s where the problem comes from, though I am not sure.
I don’t know how to correct this. I have tried switching yoast off, clearing the cache and switching it back on in the hopes it might pick up the www but that didn’t help.
I’m new to wordpress so don’t do programming etc. and I’m not very technical. What I have described above is about my limit!The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]
