What files are there you can’t find?

well i’m sure the files are there, it’s just i can’t get the folder structure to work so I can find them

in reading < a href=https://www.tamba2.org.uk/wordpress/upgrade/upgrade_en.html>this guide it says i should be getting 4 seperate folders in the download and all i get is all the files in one huge folder, making it a complete mess

Try downloading again, or grab the .tar.gz version.

i’ve tried downloading 3 times with no luck.

Use a different application to decompress the .zip archive. If you’re using WinZip, or whatever Windows uses to unzip files, try Stuffit Expander: https://www.stuffit.com/win/expander/index.html

I had the same problem as bmirage. I couldn’t figure out why nothing was coming along with folders. Is there any other program I could download that wouldn’t just be a 30 day free trial to solve this sort of problem in the future?

Try 7zip, it’s open-source and available on Sourceforge (sf.net)

that doesnt seem to eork for me either :(. this is really quite upsetting

When you extract the .zip file with WinZip make sure that you select the “Use Folder Names” option.

I’m afraid nothing has work and it is really frustrating.I’ve pretty much given up but I do appreciate everyone who helped me try to figure this out.

Well the zip is packed in a folder called WordPress. You do not need to upload the folder- just the contents. There is no mess in the zip I can assure you (and other would be users)
