• Hi – not sure if anyone can help me. I am working on this site: https://www.braintumourtrust.co.uk and am trying to set up a new top level tap along the top of the home page (after Information and support) – I can get it to have no parent – but any help on how to get it to show along the top would be much appreciated!

  • Sorry, not sure what you mean… I see that your top navigation has 4 tabs. You want to add another? How did you go about adding these 4?

Hi Christine – that’s exactly what I mean, adding an additional tab. I have no idea how they were done – the site was developed by a third party who no longer support the site so I am working blind on this. I have a scribbled note that says I need to get the page ID to add it – but not sure where I am supposed to add it. I’ve looked at the page set up for the other tabs and just can’t see what’s different about them from other pages.

Do you know if they’re hard-coded into the template (possibly in header.php)? I assume the menu isn’t editable from with WordPress itself? (appearance/menus)

If your not says you need a page ID (which sounds odd), is there some sort of menu builder plugin installed?

You might want to go and look at the header.php

    Go to appearance > editor
In the right hand side select the header.

They might have used the function wp_list_pages to create the menu.
With this function, you can use it by including or excluding page ids.

So that could be what they mean by “get the page ID and add it”
