Help To Identify Elements on Inherited Website
-
Firstly, I apologise in advance if this is the wrong place to post this but I am very new to this, and need help identifying what I’m actually looking at.
I am not a technical person in any way, but in my current job I have inherited the task of maintaining our website. Therefore, I had nothing to do with setting it up, so in all honesty I’m not really sure how the real nuts and bolts of it work. I’ve managed to do most of the things I need to do using help files and guides, but I’m now stuck.
We have a set of pages for our Events. These pages have a sidebar. When I create new event pages (which I usually do by cloning and amending one of the existing event pages), I know how to manually enter them in the dropdown menu that appears under ‘Events’ in the menu that runs along the top of the site (Appearances – Menu), but I am having trouble with the sidebar. The new pages I create seem to magically appear in the sidebar without me having to do anything, but because I can’t identify which widget/plugin/whatever it’s called is generating this sidebar, I can’t work out how it’s deciding what order to put them in, and I want to re-order them, but I’m having trouble working out where to go to find where I can do this. Can anyone help me identify what this is called and where it lives so I can go and change it?
Many thanks in advance.
