• Please help!!!

    We had some problems with bad javascript code causing a 500 server error on our blog (url https://www.rockersnyc.com/blog) last week. It is hosted on Godaddy, and they removed the code, but now NO POSTS are showing on the blog, or on our dashboard. The contents of the posts are all still in our database, but they are not showing up on the blog. When I go to the manage tab in the dashboard, I can see all of our drafts, but none of our published posts show up.

    Here is what was done up till this point:

    6/17 – bad code causes 500 error
    6/18 – bad code removed
    6/19 – weird code shows on blog background; I restored older files, bad code shows up again, 500 server error
    6/20 – transferred domain from CometAmerica to Godaddy, bad code removed again, no posts on blog or in dashboard.
    6/21 – today, still f*%%^d!!

    PLEASE PLEASE help me!!!!! Let me know whatever else you need to know about the problem…

  • Can I confirm that you’re really using WordPress 2.0…

    Ummm heheh…yeah its 2.0.6…is that our problem?

    Only that I might have problems remembering what was, and wasn’t possible that far back. That’s one old install!

    Looks like the display is stopping at the point where it should be showing the post title. do you have access to any errors logs. Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

    resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress 2.0.6?

    Hi, thanks for your reply!

    I followed the instructions for deactivating the plugins, and it didn’t seem to make any difference. I will try the other options you gave me.

    Can you direct me to a set of instructions for re-uploading all of the files & folders?

    Thanks!

    Hi, I reset the plugins folder through my FTP, and now in my dashboard there are no plugins showing…when I re-name the folder, it says that I have no plugins, but when I change the name back to “plugins” it does the same thing as my posts and just doesn’t show up.

    I have re-uploaded all of the 2.0.6 files, except the wp-content folder, but it is still not showing up. Since it may be theme-specific, I went in to my dashboard to change the theme, but my theme section is blank. Also, when I try the theme editor or plugin editor tabs, I get an Internal Server error page.

    Hi, one more thing…where do I find an error log in my blog folder?

    Thread Starter rockers77

    (@rockers77)

    Also, when I check the source code for my blog page, this is what it says:

    <b>Warning</b>: Missing argument 1 for _e() in <b>/home/content/r/o/c/rockersnyc/html/blog/wp-includes/wp-l10n.php</b> on line <b>37</b>

    And this is line 37 on wp-110n.php:

    36 // Echo a translated string.
    37 function _e($text, $domain = ‘default’) {
    38 global $l10n;

    I can’t tell what is missing?

    You would need to ask your host about location of error logs if they give you access to them. Godaddy customers seem to have had a rash of Server errors the last week.

    Not sure about your error but to guess you need to try reuploading those files again.

    Also please make sure you have a backup of your database.

    Hi, I have tried re-uploading 2.0.6, updating to 3.0, deactivating plugins and deactivating my theme to go to default.

    Still no posts.

    I have backed everything up, so I am switching back to the original state of things.

    I know all my posts are there, they are in MySQL and they are in my FTP. But they aren’t showing up on my dashboard or on my blog.
