Help! Suspected Malware on my Vimeography Plug-in:

    Hi there,

    I just got a note that said the following inside my wordpress account:

    “Critical Problems found:

    * File contains suspected malware URL: /home/scottl/playfultrekker/wp-content/vimeography/cache/vimeography-gallery-1.cache”

    Could you please tell me if this is something I need to be worried about?

    I am up to date w the version 1.3.2, but I’ve had to deactivate the plug-in until I hear back.

    Hello,

    The .cache file is actually just the cached response from the Vimeo api that stores all of your videos so that the Vimeography plugin doesn’t need to contact Vimeo for your videos every time that the gallery loads.

    This is normal and should not be a cause for any concern.
