• How can I:

    1) Stop my site from being spidered by so many search engines so often–literally half of my traffic is from Google, Yahoo, etc…

    2) Allow my authors to access Manage>Files? I remember in an earlier version of WP there was a master options page hidden someplace that would allow admins to determine what level registered user could see which page.

Thanks Vaam! That seems like a helpful site. I’ll check it out.

    Vaam–that site was a huge help–thanks!!

So, no takers on #2? Allowing my other users access to that files page would be a big help to me.

Well, it isn’t all that hidden, but have you experimented with the different user roles at Manage -> Users -> Authors & Users?

I haven’t looked at the codex, but I thought one of the role options, besides admin, could get to manage files?

And if the built-in options for managing users is not enough, use the Role Manager plugin:

Yeah, that was actually the first thing I did with no luck, which is why I posted here. Of course, I wasn’t Mr. Thorough and didn’t see all those checkboxes at the bottom. I’m such an idiot…

Thanks, Handy! Moshu, thanks for the plugin suggestion–that would have done it if I hadn’t bothered to scroll all the way down. ?? Sorry to post on something stupid like this. ??
