Help – Spam

  • Hi,
    I’ve been blogging for a while and intitially my son set up the blog for me, and I’ve never had a problem, but over the last couple of days the amount of spam coming through has risen from 10ish to 200ish! How can I block this spam?

    Thanks Jeremy. I have used your link and activated Akismet, but I now need a key. I have followed the instructions, but can’t find my key on my profile – do you have any ideas.

    Hi gillobaman,register for an account at wordpress.com, it will be in that profile, and not yourc current blog profile.You don’t have to register for a blog, just an account.

    Mike you are a star! Many thanks, I’ve done it. Hopefully now I can get on with blogging – the spam is coming in every minute from mainly the same person grrrrrrrr.

    Hi again, glad it worked out, don’t forget, if you go to settings discussion, at the bottom of the page you have a section for a blacklist.its very useful. I also use Bad behaviour plugin, it works well wih Akismet. If its the same person, make a note of their IP.
