Help – Site works but super slow

I had a site built for a friend. They changed their domain and moved the hosting, wich screwed it up. I got it back up and running again but was having issues. Then it seemed to be working fine.

Originally I set the site up in a folder in the root directory called ‘www’. Taking the site out of that folder screwed it up again.

In an effort to start afresh I re-installed a fresh version of WP. I left the initial build in the root ‘www’ folder and installed a new WP at the root level. I then pulled over content from the old wp-content folder. All seemed okay again and running smoothly. The old ‘www’ folder was left on the ftp site.

A little while later I return to the site and it is back to being amazingly slow. It loads, eventually, and everything is present and correct, it just takes about a minute to load a page.
