    Hi,

I just want to know is there a way just to restore some posts that I deleted in my wordpress. Thing is I installed another theme & content, which overwrote my previous posts, and now I just want to go back and restore those posts. I do not want to overwrite anything; I just want to restore/add the previously deleted posts. Seems that’s the problem I’ve been running into with a lot of tools/installs, it seems that it requires fully overwriting everything and then that leaves me confused trying to scramble and figure out how to restore stuff. And I’m no techie, just a guy trying to figure out all this stuff with the least amount of problems possible.

Basically, in order to do this, you’d want to edit the SQL file to only include the impacted tables.

Though I don’t understand how just changing a theme could have done this? Themes should be change-able without impacting posts or pages. Unless you were talking about a custom post type maybe? In which case you could technically just add that post type back into the new theme to have the other posts display.

In any case, this is a question better suited to someone who’s working with your site – some hosts might be able to help you with it as well. Just make sure you save the database backup in a separate place (like on your computer or in Dropbox , etc) so it doesn’t get deleted in the backups folder.

    Good luck!
    Kat
