• Hi guys,

I run wordpress site https://www.baddice.co.uk and i have community forums. I am wanting to put the forums into my site but keep the header, adverts and tabs at the top but lose the sidebar when on the forums pages.

Is this something that i can do? And if so how do i go about doing it??

    Regards,
    Ben.

  • yup. I use simple:press plugin to do that, I really like it. It basically inserts a standard looking forum into a WP page. I made a custom page template within my theme that is a copy of my normal page template just made the content area wider and removed the sidebar. Took about 10 minutes.

You also have bbpress as an option, which is what this forum uses. I’m not sure of the exact steps to integrate it, but a simple google search will net you lots of results

And finally, buddypress…..which adds social network functionality to your site, but also can include a bbpress install

google those options and see what you think. There are other forum plugins if you search on here as well, I’m just not familiar with them

Ok thanks that gives me something to look into.

The forums have already up and running is phppbb3

ah, sorry. I misread your original post, didn’t see that you already had a forum running.

That’s a different matter altogether….google may be your best bet looking for a wordpress/phpbb3 bridge of some sort. Or including the WP theme into the phpbb3 install….
