• Hi

Hoping someone can help with an issue we’re having on our site. We’re expecting a lot of traffic to the site tomorrow through some advertising, so really keen to try to find a solution…

On every page of our site is the following text:
    No comments yet.
RSS feed for comments on this post.
Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.

Here’s a link to the site: Amalfi Shirts

Anyone know how I can stop this from appearing?

    Really appreciate your help!

  • If you want to remove that text completely and have no text showing at all, not even a comments box, you’ll need to edit your theme…

You’ll probably want to look at your single.php, page.php, index.php, functions.php, comments.php, archive.php files. The best thing to do though would be do go through each theme file and CTRL+F to find each instance of the word ‘comment’ and then carefully edit the sections out accordingly. It’s a bit difficult talking you through that as the exact html/php and locations will vary from theme to theme.

Take a backup of your theme before you start editing it!

If you actually want a comments box to appear instead of that text, you’ll need to turn comments on. Admin > Settings > Discussion might need updating and probably each post and page you’ve written will need the ‘allow comments’ box ticking too.

On a different note, if you’re expecting *a lot* of traffic tommorow, you might want to investigate various caching plugins. It’d be a shame if your site spent half the day being incredibly slow or even not accessible.

Great, thanks very much for your help, much appreciated!

I found a backup of the theme and have replaced these files, so its now all looking much better.

Thanks for the tips on high traffic plugins also!
