    Hi there,

I’ve just installed this theme (a child version) to replace the Blocco child theme I had been using. I have everything configured fairly well, but I can’t seem to come up with the proper CSS code to remove the full-width image that I have on the home page from the page I’ve selected to serve as the blog page. Can you please provide the appropriate code? I’ve tried everything I could find in support forums, without success.

Blog is set to the Thoughts page.

    Many thanks,
    Diana

Hi, Diana. It looks like you figured this out. I’m not sure specifically how you did it, but for other that may be reading this…

If you choose a custom header that gets applied to the whole site, including the blog page. If instead you assign a large, full-width image just to the static page you define as the front page, then you’ll have that image there and the blog (or any other pages) won’t have that image.

    Hi Tim,

Yes, I figured out how to do that by adding the image to the home page, but not using CSS, which I’d prefer. What I ended up doing was putting the image in the page and then assigning a color to the header to match. What I’m having difficulty with is getting the footer navigation to appear toward the bottom of the home page image inline without a background. I’d like it to look like this:

I’m thinking that the image for the front page has to be assigned in CSS rather than just as an element of the page if I want the nav to appear over it, but I don’t know how to make that happen.

Hi, Diana. I see you changed up your home page. I’m not sure if you specifically wanted it to look and work that way or if you set that up temporarily until you could get the standard WordPress home page looking the way you want. So I’m a little confused on what direction to give here.

I think what you may want is something that I’ve been thinking of building as perhaps my next theme. It would have a large image in the header, but the navbar would be transparent so that the links looks like they are just sitting on top of the image. Then either the navbar scrolls away like a traditional web page or perhaps the navbar gets a semi-transparent effect added to it. Then in the footer, it could display the bottom part of the header image and have the footer menu and site credits also have a transparent background to let the image show through.

Is that similar to what you are wanting to do or are you really wanting non-scrolling, fixed background image with the header and footer menu / site credits having a transparent background?
