Are you aware that the googlebot crawls your page? And Google decides what to show? And the date is part of what Google uses to decide what is “fresh”? And the links for the feed are in the header of the page? And the feed contains the dates, as that’s how feeds work?
And the user would rather see the date?

I’d comment out that one line in content.php in a child theme where content.php is the only file there (aside from functions.php and style.css).

@joyously I understand that googlebot crawls the page. But dates are taken out a lot of the time when the content is evergreen. Here’s an example:

The 3 Essential Pinterest Strategies post does not have a date when google displays it. And in the actual post itself there is no date:

Some users are biased to older posts.
