• Hi all!

Quick question… I’m the sole author on my blog, but have been approached by a friend who said I could feature his writing on the site, as well. Here’s my dilemma… I could easily take the files he sends and copy and paste them into WordPress, then publish… But then it’ll say “Posted by” me, and I’m wanting to give him credit. I’m thinking the only way I can do it is to just create a profile for him, and post them that way, but I was wondering if perhaps there was a login for this? Like I post it, but it gives him credit in some way, such as an ‘About the Author’ box at the bottom of the post?

Any and all help is GREATLY appreciated!!

  • You can create a ‘contributor’ user account for your friend.
You could also “assign” existing / new posts to this new user by changing the “Author” for the post / page.

You could allow him to login to your site with his own account and create articles himself. If you give him the role of Contributor you would have editorial control since only you could publish the article.

Alternatively you could create an account for him and then attribute articles to him via the post edit screen.

Thanks, guys! I think those answer my questions!

Okay, I do have another question…

If I’m logged in as myself, and I add a new post, is it possible to contribute it to him? Or do I have to be logged in as him? I’ve added him as a ‘contributor.’
