• I desperately need help here. It’s 3 days before the deadline for the contest my blog is entering, and I still can’t figure out how to fix my template.

First of all, when I try to use the Kubrick theme, this appears :
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/newmedia/public_html/iblog07/womendexinsheng/wp-content/themes/default/index.php on line 443

Secondly, when I try to access my blog using a FTP Client to upload a theme, here’s what happens:

    Status: Connecting to iblog07.new-media-arts.com …
Status: Connected with iblog07.new-media-arts.com. Waiting for welcome message…
    Response: 220———- Welcome to Pure-FTPd [TLS] ———-
Response: 220-You are user number 1 of 50 allowed.
Response: 220-Local time is now 00:51. Server port: 21.
Response: 220-This is a private system – No anonymous login
Response: 220 You will be disconnected after 15 minutes of inactivity.
    Command: USER admin
Response: 331 User admin OK. Password required
    Command: PASS ******
    Response: 530 Login authentication failed
    Error: Unable to connect!

Can anyone tell me what is wrong and how I can solve this ASAP?!

  • 1. For the first error – you are doing something wrong: there are no 443 lines in the index.php of the Kubrick.

    2. As for the FTP issue: talk to your host.

I found that the Main Index Template got changed to something else..

Is there anyway to revert the template back to its original without using an FTP Client?

    Not really.
Unless there is some kind of file manager in your site’s main admin panel. (not the blog’s admin, but the administration offered by host)

Your ftp issue- It looks like you are using the FTPD instead of the correct ftp program. The FTPD is used to allow people to ftp to and from your site. By default, this daemon is normally turned off. It must be configured with specific user accounts and passwords. You do not want to use this.

Instead, go to your Shell manager or whatever utility you have that allows you to access files on your site. Once inside, you will see things like copy, move, and upload. The upload is what you want.

    Hope this helps,
    Zeek
