• Hi friends

I am new to WordPress and installed it recently on my blog at https://blog.techtimes.co.in

My question is, I want to post news in separate pages. That is I want to create 3 pages – Tech, Media and Sports and the posts has to be posted in the respective pages. Right now i have this setup on my free blog at https://techupdates4u.weebly.com

I want the same setup using WP. Is it possible, and how?? Please help me to solve this.

    Thanks in advance

  • Read up on custom post types. That is how I would do it.

    Thanks for the reply.

I can create 3 pages thru Admin UI>>Page>>New Page.

But my question and doubt is, when i make a post how do i choose which page it has to be published.

It should be like 3 diff. Blogs on 3 pages.

You can do two different things.

Create three pages as you said, then when you create a ‘news’ item select the appropriate page from the ‘post parent’ menu when you create or edit the post.

Create a custom post type for each of your sctions– Tech, Media and Sports– as I suggested. This is only slightly more complicated and much more elegant. It is also easier to manage because you will have completely isolated menus in the WordPress backend.
