Please see https://www.fattyacidtrip.com. You’ll notice two weird things about it that appeared all of the sudden:

    1) The sidebar font is now huge.
    2) From the 4th post on down, the font size changes in the title of the post.

The weird thing is that the sidebar displays fine when you click on one of the categories. See https://www.fattyacidtrip.com/category/faq/ as an example.

Here’s the strangest part: The problem remains even when I switch themes.

I rolled back all my files from a previous backup, yet the problem remains, as well.

Do I have a ghost inhabiting my server? What gives?

Please, please help. My site is live and very broken.

  • I’m making a link to your site since we have a daughter who we are giving various kinds of fish oil.

If you validate your site, there are some problems. Most are problems with “&”. But there is one WYSIWYG editor / plugin error (span error). Perhaps that could be the problem.

I have had a similar issue with Sidebar fonts getting larger but have attributed mine to a second stylesheet I use and perhaps an unclosed tag somewhere which I haven’t yet found.

Another thought as I looked at the page/post that looks fine. There is probably something in one of those posts on your main page that is throwing you into that problem. Maybe if the css validation errors are fixed, you’ll be fine.

It looks like you solved this?

For the record, sidebars are often constructed so that they create nested lists. IE has a problem with percentage font size in nested lists that’s been well documented. I don’t know if that was the problem but 9 times out of 10 that’s the culprit.

I’ll look at both these things. Jwurster, do you think I should be looking at style.css as well as the posts?

Melissa, did you find a posting with bad code in it? *EVERY* time I have encountered this it was fixed by finding something awry inside a post by viewing in HTML mode. -kj-

You are absolutely right. It was indeed a bad post. I had no idea that could happen.

Moral of the story: If your site is suddenly formatting weirdly, be sure to check your latest post!

Thanks, everyone for your help. I am relieved to be back up and running.
