    Hi

I have just noticed that if someone creates a new blog account on my network, they can use the admin panel, but their blog is blank when viewed.

    For example:

    https://marinergrim.6sided.net/

Old blogs created before yesterday are fine. I un-installed w3 total cache yesterday. Could it be permalinks or htaccess?

    Thanks

    Jason

Did you delete the default theme?

Blank pages are usually PHP errors.

    Hi

No, default theme is there and being used by other blogs.

htaccess looks ok from what I know. If it was a permalink problem I am thinking it would effect all blogs rather than just new ones?

Looking into this a bit more, it seems even weirder.

https://marinergrim.6sided.net/ Was created on 26th July, and is blank, so was created before I removed the caching plugin. Another blog was created on 27th and is viewable. I just created a test blog and it is blank.

So it is not that all new blogs are blank, just some of them!

I’m really not sure what to check next?
    Thanks

Not really. If it was an .htaccess problem it would affect all blogs. If it was permalinks, those are per-site, so no ??

    But it’s not that.

Blank pages are, as I said, PHP errors. Go check your php errors in your error_log for your server.

Go into the admin area of the new blog. pick a new theme. does it work?

    Hi

Thanks – you are right it does seem to be something to do with the themes, but I cannot understand what is happening.

Default theme is twentyten. If I create a new account, and then visit it, the site is blank. If I activate another theme in admin, the blog loads, and if I then reactivate twentyten it it displays fine.

I have setup debugging as expained in the codex – no output, and checked cpanel server logs – nothing logged. I have also defined the default them in config just in case, but it made no difference.

So its something related to the theme and new accounts, but there is no information telling me what is happening.

    Thanks

PS – I have also reuploaded twentyten in case it was corrupt in some way as well.

Sorry Andrea just saw your reply – yes, doing that works.

What theme do you have set as default? If you didn’t define it in the wp-config.php file, then it would be Twenty ELEVEN, actually ??

    Hi

AHHH! You are right, I had no theme defined and had twentyten not twentyeleven.

Not sure why its been working fine until yesterday though? Must have been something to do with the cache?

    Anyway its fixed!

    Thanks

That I could not tell you without reading your error logs ??
