• I am new… just obtained my domains with 1and1.com and started reading about WordPress.

I am interested in blogging for fun but I would like to make money from my blog… using ads and topics that I’ll be writing about.

I need advice in hosting, who should I got with and what is the hosting size plan I should start with?

I have read posts here with issues with WordPress and 1and1 hosting… so I am not sure if I should go with 1and1 or not.

Maybe a hosting provider that has a “one click” WordPress set up service… I have read some hosting services to help you set up WordPress for free?

Any advice is appreciated, thank you for your time.

moshu, what do you mean by “double post”?

You started another topic with the same question. That’s “double post”. And I love to delete them ??

Believe or not I apologize… I must have done it by mistake… still learning this stuff about “forum posting” as well. I don’t even know how to track the responses yet on these things… I just leave the window opened… and use the refresh button…

Did you try to click on “member” under your name (or, for the same result) on “profile” up in the top right corner?

On the right will be listed all the topics you have started; on the left all the topics you have participated in (including those on the right).

Since I’ve only been hosted with one host (but I guess that may prove to be a positive thing, since I haven’t had the need to change hosts), I can only vouch for Blue Host (bluehost.com). I don’t have any trouble with them. They DO have a monthly plan. Their plan includes an unbelievable amount of space, bandwidth, etc. but I suppose it is too much if you are only interested in hosting a blog. If you ever want to expand and maintain some more websites though, I’d definitely go with Blue Host. Blue Host has “Fantastico” which will install many scripts within a few simple clicks, including WordPress.

    hi, and thank you both.

@moshu… i think i figgured out the deal with the favorites here. thank you.

@poorcookie… i chatted with a rep from bluehost and he told me that they dont offer ANY monthly services… i mean, you got to pay them up front for a year.

    any other suggestions anyone?

Hmm, I see. They put 6.95 per month right on the front page, but they fail to mention you can only pay yearly… Well, doesn’t matter for me since I’d prefer to pay yearly, but that’s misleading. You do get a free domain with BlueHost, though.

I’ve come across many sites and a couple of friends hosted by Surpass. You might wanna check them out: https://www.surpasshosting.com Their smallest plan is $6 per month, but I can’t say I know for sure if you can pay monthly (as demonstrated by BlueHost!).

You just have to look at A Small Orange. Awesome for bloggers.
