Help needed on layout and wordpress

Hi,
I currently setting up my own website (https://www.imhappyfish.com) with the help from one of my friend.

I downloaded the web template from webshapes.org (aquatic https://www.webshapes.org/public/templates/200703084693332396/index.html )and use it for my website including the blog. Now the width of the sidebar is apperently too narrow to fit in some of the affiliate programs and amazon product banner, does anyone know how to make the sidebar wider?

When we intergrate this template with wordpress theme, the original right column from wordpress template seems to eating out my main content area and google ad, how can I reduce the size of the column? or better still how to intergrate blog element to the aquatic template without interrupt the existing setting?
