Help!! My new LINKS are Disappearing!

  • This is crazy!

    My site was working fine, no problems. I logged on today and started updating some info–added a couple of pages, etc. I then approved a couple of comments; all was normal.

    Then I tried to link between two of my pages in html view. I can see the code, but it doens’t link; when I preview it shows nothing changed on the page, not even the code. I should note, it’s not just my internal links, it won’t let me link anything –it used to work fine.

    What’s wrong? How do I fix it? I have no idea what happened!!

    I just wanted to add a couple of things to help clarify the problem:

    1. Until yesterday, I had no problemw with links.
    2. All links prior to yesterday work fine.
    3. I can see the characters in html but it does not recognize links as links, and they totally disappear in visual and preview.
    4. I posted a link to a new page I created yesterday on FB, and it does not work. It gives an error instead of connecting to the page, even though I can access the page through my website.
    5. I did NOT add any plugins, widgets, etc. No settings were changed, this just randomly happened after I logged in and approved some comments.

    I really, seriously need help with this. Basically my site is useless wiithout it recognizing new links.

    Any ideas on

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress.
