Help! My media library is completely empty after updating plugins.

  • I just updated several plugins on my site and now my Media Library is completely empty. I’ve reverted the plugins to their previous version, and deactivated them but to no avail. The files still exist in my uploads folder but my Media Library is completely empty.

    I know there are certain plugins that have caused this issue by creating a redirect to a new cache directory. But I am unaware how to see if that is the issue, and how to fix the problem at all.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    NB: The plugins I updated were: Akismet, Imsanity, Media Library Assistant, Webkite, WordPress SEO, WP Smushit. And I deleted LDD Directory Lite.

    Update: I’ve updated my site from an early backup to resolve the issue. I’m still not sure why it happened so if anyone can help explain I’d appreciate the info. But otherwise my issue has been resolved.
