HELP: Member Sign Up And/Or CAPTCHA

Okay what I want to do is have users sign up as members in order to post comments, or have them be able to post as visitors if they pass a CAPTCHA entry. What I do not want is that if you’re a member you have enter in CAPTCHA each time, members shouldn’t be bothered with that. I just want visitors to have to enter CAPTCHA to keep spammers away, but allow people to post to my site without having to signup as members. Is this a setting in WordPress or a plugin I need to download? Excuse the n00b dust, I just installed WordPress a couple weeks ago ?? Thanks for any help!
