Help me find a plugin please

Greetings,

I have been searching the plugins section and cannot find one that will fit my needs. I am asking if anyone knows of one or a similar one which may be retooled.

What I am trying to do is have either a map of the US and/or a search form that will search by state or city, then the search will pull up a list of names/businesses that link to a page with contact information and such and list this in alphabetical order.

What I think I will need is a database that holds the information needed for the created page and that auto creates itself and the link. But I would also like a section in administration where I will input the information, (name, phone, website, logo, etc.) that will auto create the link and page, or at the very least the page.

I have not found a plugin that will do this, so I wonder if anyone knows of one such as this or one similar enough that I may be able to retool the programming to fit my needs.

While I am new to the WordPress platform and while I consider myself intermediate to advance php programmer and believe I could retool a plugin that is similar. I have yet to write a plugin but this may be my first if I cannot find one.

Any suggestions, helps, or links would be most appreciated.
