Help me censor one specific word and replace them with another?!?

  • I need a pluging that lets me replace a couple of selected words with some other words. Think cursing, replaced with inoffensive words.

    I’ve searched through plugins for this, but found no one that does this. They all censor curswords with “********”. I don’t want this.

    I want comments that mention my competitors to be replaced by the name of my site. So people can’t spam with names of others, trying to ruin my userbase.

  • I’d recommend taking one of these plug-ins and editing it so that rather than replace words with ***** is replaces them with the content you want to use. You’ll have to edit the actual PHP files for the plug-in, so I recommend this if and only if you are experienced with tweaking PHP code.

    Nah, no experience. Need a ready-made plugin.
    I see one of them called WP_Censor plans to do it in the future, but I need it now.

    I would be able to replace the “****” in the php, but that would make it apply to all cursewords. And theres several words, not many though – that I want to replace with each it’s own alternative.
