Help! Looking for a good place to find a WP expert to hire!

I am web designer and work some with programming but with the ease of Word Press I typically can figure out things on my own. However I have a new site that is responsive and ecommerce and I am running into issues! There are tons of sites out there that boast of WP experts and want you to hire them but I want to just hire on a as needed basis. I want some advice here not sure where to start!!
