Help-It's raining & I'm Suicidal

I cannot find the code glitch? I have tried using a CSS validator went line for line and “nothing” Although it said there were four errors after sleuthing thru them the only discrepancy I could find was:

body {
  text-align: center;
  margin: 0;
  padding: 0 0 15px 0;
  font-family: trebuchet ms, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;
  background: #000 url(images/bgbody.jpg) top center no-repeat;
  color: #eee;
  }

The difference being the (images/bgbody.jpg) the validator removed it and I tried it and lost my background so I put it back in.

I updated my site, I have the Old CSS file yet there are about 30 of them in the folder so I do not know which one to replace it with?
The Challenge I have, as I have been reading for hours and looking for a decent book that goes over this stuff step by step but there are many and not so descriptive of say CSS 101. Hence me running over here!

When I updated my Blog part of my site went haywire and stuffed my Weclome PHP to the bottom and it does not float in the Rightside; if you look at https://www.netcommercial.net/blog you will find this information at the bottom which used to be in a welcome box floating Right.

Where is the area that I should be editing or is this a Child Parent thing I have been reading about. Back in the day I would just stuff a table in there tell it to float right or center give the table parameters and Voila I was done. Now with the ease of WP it has made it very hard. At least for me….

Please respond as quick as you can I as I am going to finish my tea then start on the drain cleaner if I do not get this handled. LOL!
