    I’m no longer able to install any themes besides the WP Twenty-Eleven. I repaired (I hope) the Tim Thumb vulnerabilities, deactivated all plugins (then reactivated), renamed the .htaccess file, and deleted any themes identified in a hacker vulnerability scan, but I’m still getting an error 500 when installing new themes.

    Here are the most recent messages from my error log:

    [04-Mar-2012 14:19:22] PHP Warning: gzuncompress() [function.gzuncompress]: data error in /home1/freefrin/public_html/wp-content/themes/manganescent/includes/required/template-top.php(1) : eval()’d code(1) : eval()’d code on line 48
    [04-Mar-2012 18:57:29] PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_mostpopular() in /home1/freefrin/public_html/wp-content/themes/manganescent/sidebar.php on line 34

    The theme “Manganescent” had been deleted from the server before these errors were recorded.

    Thank you!

    I never said I couldn’t open the site. The site opens fine with twenty-eleven as its theme. The problem is the server 500 error message that comes up when I am trying to install any other theme or WP template than twenty-eleven. Thanks.

    The theme you trying to install may not be compatible Have you tried some other theme.

    The theme is compatible with WP. I know this because WordPress adopted the theme’s framework as its own in one of the most recent updates. Is there someone who can help me interpret the error logs and help me fix the issue?

    What theme are you trying to install?

    Esmi, it’s Auld, a tumblr-like theme from Woo Themes. The Woo Theme support forum is suggesting it’s a PHP error and to check the error logs on my sever. I did that and copied the most recent error logs messages in my initial question above.

    But it actually doesn’t matter the specific theme, it seems. Nothing is working now except for default twenty-eleven. Thanks!

    Try re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress.
