Help installing WordPress in Root AND in subfolder

    I am running the initial site (English) in the root folder, and I want to put a separate install in a subfolder for the Spanish version.

    https://sagecaretherapy.com (and sagecaretherapy.com/es)

    I have the files loaded in both places, and I have tow separate databases and wp-config files loaded. It this a multisite issue, or is there something else I need to do to get these to work?

    I’ve read comments about modifyting the .htaccess file.

    Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

  • As you have described them, ‘sagecaretherapy.com’ and ‘sagecaretherapy.com/es’ are separate, independent sites/blogs that happen to be in different languages and with the second being a sub-domain of the first. I think multisite is something much different, and either way I think you are headed toward SEO trouble since you will have two sites/blogs with duplicate content even though in different languages…and that is about as much as I know about multisite versus multilingual.
