Help! I'm trying to add vertical space between my side menu

You should create a Child theme to make your changes. If you do not, all of your changes will be lost if you update your theme.

Try adding this to the end of your child theme’s style.css:

#text-4 img {
    height: 30px;
    padding-bottom: 3px;
}

Adjust the px values to suit.

I have no idea how to create a child theme and what goes in the theme. Do you know? Thanks so much for your help!

Thanks for the help! Another question, do you know how to make my sidebar navigation show up on the pages? I would like the pink, orange and yellow boxes to be the same on all pages. Here is the link again to the site.

You are using the Twenty Eleven theme which does not allow sidebars on all pages. You can use the Twenty Eleven Theme Extensions plugin to add sidebar capability as well as some other useful features.
