Hi.. well I un-installed the WP that I had and re-installed it again… this time I used 7Z to unzip the files. I put the into the directory on my computer, but now I’m not sure how to access them…

I have accessed that Import option on the WP install on my domain, however now when I export the website and have it download to my computer, as a XML file, I cannot find it in the “download” directory.

Also, I use firefox and when the “export” function starts, it automatically starts Explorer.

I think this is the problem. Can you tell me how to prevent Explorer from starting?

That shouldn’t matter. You just need to use the browser option within Tools->Import->Wordpress to locate the downloaded .xml file.
