Help: I want authors to view their posts ONLY

I have created a custom post type called “Journal”, so that all my registered users can make private posts.
When I make a post private it makes anyones post private, so that only the admin can see it. This is not what I want.

I want the “Journal” post tab to contain all journal entries by the logged in author, to only allow them to view them.
