Hello, please help, this plugin broke my site. I’m not sure if I chose right version of WordPress I’m running because I can’t get into my site now, I got this fatal error

Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_current_screen() in /home/content/89/11664089/html/wp-content/plugins/wp-e-commerce/wpsc-admin/includes/product-functions.php on line 23

    How can I fix this?

I’m a complete tech novice, please keep this simple!! Thank you

  • FTP into your site (or whatever file management application your host provides) & rename the wp-content/plugins/wp-e-commerce folder.

Are you sure that you are running WordPress 3.7? Looks to me like you’re actually running a much older version.

It’s okay I worked it out, went into my hosting FTP file and deleted the folders! Just wish there was a warning that this kind of thing could happen. My confidence in using plugins has become dashed!

Thanks esmi for your help, yes my version is probably much older, I get really stuck with all of this because I never worked out how to make a child theme for my template that I completely customized.
I think I actually deleted the wp-e-commerce folder as well, just in case. Not sure what to do about creating a landing page now, will probably have to find another way to do it.

my version is probably much older

Why? Were you aware that your site is currently running a very real risk of being hacked? You need to upgrade WordPress asap.

No esmi, I wasn’t aware, I’m hopeless at all this tech stuff and it’s taking all of my resolve to get my website going. When I upgrade, it ruins my template because apparently I was supposed to get a child theme. All this is really getting me down, I already gave up on WordPress once, but am determined to push through. Will read your link

Where did you download this theme from? Fixing a theme or choosing anew one is likely to take only a day or so. Cleaning up a hacked site can take weeks.

I’m using the bluchic Chamomile theme and put a lot of effort into getting it how I want, but stupidly didn’t make a child theme. Yes you’re right I need to sort this out

Hey Sorry to hear you are having troubles.

You will need a higher version of wordpress 3.6+ to use this plugin.

I just downloaded this plugin and I am running the latest wordpress 3.7.1 and I now lost my site. I tried deleting the plugin and I still have errors.

    This is the error:

Fatal error: Internal Zend error – Missing class information for in /home/content/67/10986767/html/wp-content/plugins/like-button-plugin-for-wordpress/include/gb_generate.php on line 22 (which is the facebook like plugin)

Tried to delete the plugin in the error and now have a new error. This really messed up my site configuration. How do I fix it? I suppose I will have to restore a backup.

This is a problem with your “/like-button-plugin-for-wordpress” plugin. Delete that plugin
