HELP! I don’t know what I’m doing!!

Hi, I’m a beginner blogger, and I do mean beginner – I really thought that Word Press would be more intuitive and that there would be more guidance and instruction provided (and NOT in overwhelming wiki and forum formats!) Should i just accept my lowly place in the blogging world and swap WP out for an easier site like Xanga or Blogger??
